Do WMT panels generate electromagnetic interference (EMI)?

Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) levels for WMT devices were tested by the TÜV – WMT panels only generate up to 2% of the allowable EMI level for electrical appliances. In other words, the only EMI is generated by the mains cable; the panel itself operates without causing interference.

How high are the operational costs?

Based on values obtained in the period 07/08 until 09/10, experience shows that consumption values for IR systems are up to 30% lower than those for conventional heating systems (e.g. Gas heating, Night storage heaters, etc).

Are these the same panels as in an IR heated cabin?

High quality IR heated cabins use panel radiators that are fundamentally similar in construction. There are some differences such as the maximum surface temperature and in the aesthetic design and mounting possibilities.

How does the IR radiator panel actually function?

Voltage is applied to a specially plated layer, one hundredth of a millimetre thick. The whole surface of this layer reaches a core temperature of 85°C, giving off infrared radiation in the long wave C-band. A reflective layer behind the heater layer ensures 100% of the radiation passes out the front of the panel (similar to the reflector in a headlamp or projector).

What if my child touches the panel or knocks it over?

WMT infrared panels are very robust. – simply knocking it over, or tripping over the cable would normally have no adverse consequences. The panels, having been tested to TÜV standards, and having a surface temperature of 85°, can also be used without problem in the vicinity of children. There is no danger of being burnt.

Why are there no controls on the panel?

There are many possibilities for how our panels can be used; individually or in combinations. Thanks to the modular construction, we can offer each customer a range of control options, so they get exactly the right solution for their specific situation.
